GermanInvasion.co.uk - who and what we are

GermanInvasion.co.uk has been established by The Clique, itself formed in London in 1890 as a central clearing-house of information on old, rare and collected books and related material.  We've therefore been in the old book business for 120 years.

A series of acquisitions in Germany has enabled us to offer an outstanding selection of original German military and Luftwaffe intelligence aerial reconnaissance and ground-based photographs, town plans and maps prepared in Berlin in the early 1940s For Official Use Only! (Nur für den Dienstgebrauch!) or Secret! (Geheim!).

These military intelligence items, covering cities, towns and other areas throughout Britain, were issued by the German Department for War Maps and Surveying (Abteilung für Kriegskarten und Vermessungswesen) within the German General Staff (Generalstab des Heeres).

The material was used by German military staff and planners in Berlin in connection with Operation Sealion (Unternehmen Seelöwe), their intended invasion of Britain at the beginning of the second World War, and by Luftwaffe aircrew in bombing raids across Britain.

These scarce original World War Two items come from the dispersed archives of former Wehrmacht wartime bases and units.
