Each item below is an original plan of a town or city in the UK issued in limited numbers in the early 1940s by the German Department for War Maps and Surveying (Abteilung für Kriegskarten und Vermessungswesen) within the German General Staff (Generalstab des Heeres).

They were prepared For Official Use Only! (Nur für den Dienstgebrauch!) for German military staff in Berlin in connection with their intended invasion of Britain (Operation Sealion) at the beginning of the second World War.

These original German wartime town plans, most of which have never been republished, have immense historical significance as some of the few surviving remnants of World War Two German invasion material and also as scarce items of local history for the areas of the UK involved.
